SKB's personal experience is only with SOL debt, not settlement within SOL. She is not here to help anyone, only to get you to pay CA's that collect on debts within SOL. She knows, very well, that CA payment even with "paper trail" will not help your credit rating nor will it protect you from further collection. A "paid" collection to a CA on your credit report is no better than an unpaid collection. In my opinion, settlement should only be made with the OC. In the case of new chargeoffs, sometimes the OC can still deal with you. I have settled several accounts this way. I do not hide from CA's, I ignore them!
