If you can get a lawyer to help you, do so.

If not, file your answer and notice of appearance.

You may be able to negotiate a mediated settlement.

If you have any $$ in a bank, get it out, change banks and put it into a joint account with YOUR name as primary, (unless you were joint on the cards, or are in a community property State)

You may wish to consult a BK lawyer.

It is too late to negotiate with Crap1 once you have been sued.

You stopped paying 8 Months ago?? Was this on an account in good standing ( current) at that time? Or were you trying to pay on an account that had gone sour some time before.
