Here are 2 problems you might have
1)they reage the bill. I tried to remove a 6 1/2 year old bill. They reaged it to this year. I had to threaten them to get it changed back

2)the verify and the CRas update the account to show reported as this year. Now, this does not mean it is reaged. However, for some stupid reasons it make it appear to other creditors that the bad debt is from this year. Strange but true. Maybe you will get lucky. Maybe not. IT is a crap shoot.
