I have an enormous credit debt, income tax, credit cards which have been charged off and are now thorugh agencies. I have not paid some of these for quite some time. One creditor is suing me for $13000 debt and with his legal fees and court it is now totally $22,000. Besides this we have 2 in college. Anyway, I want to make amends and start fresh in paying these people. My debt in total is about $68,000. How do I go about this. Should I go through a lawyer to set up payments, credit counseling? I want to do this ASAP before it gets any worse than it has already. What should I do? I cannot take a home equity loan at this time. Any help would be appreciated.
