It really depends on how the support agreement was written, Cat. I know that in Utah, Kansas and Illinois, it can enforce support beyond the default age of emancipation at 18 if the child is a full-time student and doesn't make enough to support himself.

For instance, my husband's agreement states that he has to continue child support payments for his oldest until he's 25, as long as he's a full-time student. He also has to continue to provide insurance coverage, and is even responsible for half of the college tuition. If his son were to be accepted into Harvard (not gonna happen, thank goodness), he would have to pay a portion "according to his ability to pay." Who knows what the court thinks that amount would be!
