I think that most people here will tell you to avoid both of these programs. They will take your money, and your credit will go to the dogs. These companies scam a lot of people. You can do this for yourself and it won't cost you anything. Contact your creditors and negoiate a hardship program if you can. I am sure the others will post more specifics as to why to avoid the consumer conseling or whatever.
