If they won a judgment then unfortunately the answer is "yes" if they convinced the bank that you legally owed it. I've heard of cases where the person (like yourself) was able to reverse it with the bank after explaining that the collectors were basically scum who had no right to it, but it might be a long shot.

How far along were you in the legal process? How did they get your banking info? JKelly will tell you (wisely) you should have moved that money to a different bank if it was the same one that was being used to pay the original creditor.
