The only people that ever called my home phone were telemarketers and bills collectors. Our friends call us on our cells. We have a cellular family plan and it is much cheaper than the landline. So... We turned off our house phone. We save $40/mo doing this. Why pay for something you don't need? This is money I can spend on other things (like paying the bills that matter). Why would I care if a CA contacts my neighbors? What could they possibly tell them? The truth that I'm late on some of my bills? ROFL!!! It's a little late to start thinking about your pride AFTER you've screwed up your credit. Cancel the phone and save some $$$! By the way, cell phones are non-published numbers so there's no way for anyone to obtain your cell # unless you give it out publicly.
