With those rental companies someone goes in and rents (actually I think it is called a lease/purchase) something -- a bed, t.v., sofa, etc. The company keeps ownership until the last payment. After all the rental (lease) payments the item is yours.

Probably the first thing you need to do is file that you are a victim of fraud.

The FTC and your state attorney general has information on this.
