It is not possible, legally for anyone to re-open a case that has been abandoned.

The ONLY valid reason, in my opinion, to file a motion for dismissal on the grounds of abandonment would be if you wished to pursue legal action against the creditor who filed the suit.

That would get any possibility of reopening their case out of the way before you took action aainst them.
