My debt is around 2 years since last payment and attorneys stopped contacting me for months after I requested validation. Now they are saying they are offering a limited time settlement reduction or something like that, and I don't know if I would win in court (they know all the tricks, so my guess is they'd get me).

I live in California. I would like to settle, but fear that they will take my words as ammunition to get the entire amount.

I'm 95% sure they are a real law firm, as I have checked them out on the INternet, and they were referred to me by Wolpoff & Abramson (MBNA's folks), whom I'm sure would want to use a real firm rather than waste time with some sleazy liars.

What should I do? Should I just deal with MBNA directly?

Thank you Why Chat.
