I see no good reason to deal with them ever. My 2 cents. IGNORE THEM. Protect your assets in case you are sued. Relax. Someone commented that I was sued anyway. Yes, I was. I had 13 cards (finally counted them) and only one sued. I had filed bk immediately which immediately stopped the law suit. WHAT DID I GAIN BY IGONORING CREDITORS SINCE I HAD TO FILE BK ANYWAY. I avoided a mountain of STRESS. It worked well for me. Personally, I think it is the best way to go once you get beyond the point of a hardship program with original creditor. That is worth a try, but beyond that. Nope, just ride out the SOL.
