Yes, I agree with J Kelly.

On the move back to US, I can give you some advice. Let's say you move back to AZ (SOL 3 years) on Jan 1 2005 and figure that all your credit cards drop off on Jan 1 2006.

For that one year your new address/ phone number MUST NOT reach the credit databases (trust me, they are good at geting information).

Want to rent an apartment? Either find one which does not need a credit check, or have a friend rent one for you (a different one this time!) and you live in it. Ditto for Cable connection, phone, utilities etc. Don't give out your SSN to ANYTHING.

The idea is that after you move back, none of your updated information should reach any database. It is easy to do if you are vigilant throughout.

AFTER the SOL is through, OPT OUT, and then you are free of your credit mess. DO NOT opt out before the SOL is through; just protect your updated information like crown jewels!
