My husband had an account with cross country bank. The most we ever charged was maybe $300.00, however by the time we were hit with all their fees it put him well above his limit. He applied over the phone and was not aware of these fees so we never paid on the account. They charged interest for a year and sold to Midland Credit Management. The account was opened in May of 1999. Now we are trying to go through and clean up our credit. The account is well over $1100 now, but we were offered a settlement with midland for $500.00. I have been reading here not to settle with CA, but we don't know how to go about cleaning up our credit without just going down the credit report and paying everyone off. What do I do? Does it help at all here in Missouri? I posted earlier, but before the dates were reposted. Thanks a million-went wrong somewhere
