Perhaps your clients were dealing with a "higher" class of collection agents than the pond scum that most here must deal with.

The modus operandi of these bottom feeders is to agree to take a settlement, agree to delete or show it as a paid collection (which doesn't help ANY "score") and then in 2 or 3 months resell the unpaid balance to another even lower scum scam CA, who re-ages it, changes the account# and reports it as a collection account from the first CA, instead of the OC.
