I think you should just chalk it up as a lesson learned. One of those expensive lessons. It would cost as much as your out in legal fees to fight the CA, then there is no guarantee that the arsehole judge would agree with you. Why didn't you just get cash for the check and been done with it? You should have known better than to deposit that much money in your bank account with a judgment lurking in the background in the first place.
