it took me all of 5 mins to opt out. the recording was very clear..concise..and a week later i received a letter asking basically was both numbers and names i did..was the information all correct>? it was and i returned the letter signed. presto. opted out! what is the issue? i dont know the people who wrote this article..but of course they need your social security number...do you know how many of us have the same name? it wasnt hard to do at all. of course they need it in writing for a hard copy and to verify. it really couldnt be much easier, considering the millions their dealing with.
