The only experience I've had with the court system here is as a juror on criminal courts. The other court systems (in two different states) I was also a juror, but they were also criminal cases. If I learned anything from those experiences, it's that protocol and style differs from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, judge to judge.

My trial will be with the same judge, in the same court room. I wanted to see what her style was like, and how she interacted with pro se defendants and/or attorneys for the plaintiff. I'm glad I sat through several of her proceedings, because I saw I needed to modify my opening statement ever so slightly. Now that I know how to approach her, I feel much more relaxed about all of this.

I also wanted to see how the other defendants in the room fared against MCM. Unfortunately, all but one of the other approximately fourteen defendants MCM sued wimped out. I was truly interested to see if MCM could even produce a single shred of evidence. But from my conversation with their attorney, I'd have to guess they don't have JACK.
