If you owe a debt, and I'm assuming you once had a Bank One credit card, it's not going to go away just like that. Yeah, you might give them a headache, but once you start requesting 'validation' and other material, they'll just stop calling you and file suit on your instead. And don't feel "safe" if you don't live in GA/MA/VA/DC (since that is where they are located) ... they just give your account to an attorney in that state and they'll sue you. But don't take my word for it, just wait a few months to get served. I'd call in and try to get a 60% settlement authority, since that is as low as they will go.
