Just repeat this mantra to yourself. “ I will not pay a 2 cent on the dollar debt buying collection agency ANYTHING!”

Then go into court and argue your case that paying through CCCS does NOT restart the SOL. Most of the judges know these collection thieves are no better than extortionists and might be very happy to see things your way. Others may be golfing buddies with the collection shyster. But they all know these collection crooks buy these accounts for 2 pennies on the dollar and that a 2-cent on the dollar collection agency has NO moral authority to steal your money by suing you on these accounts. Present your case thoughtfully, and you’ll likely prevail.

All of this is a hypothetical anyway. You haven’t been sued yet. Most of these collection criminals don’t get much in the way of any kind of documentation when they buy these accounts for 2 cents on the dollar and only ever hope for default judgments.
