How old are these debts? When was the last payment on them, and what state are you in?

DON'T IGNORE a summons!! File an appearance and if you have to file an answer, don't admit the debts are yours. If you ignore the summons and they get default judgments, THEN you have to worry about garnishments.

And don't worry about jail for paying. Ignorning a summons from the court, though, *can* land you in jail for defying the court, but it has nothing at all to do with your debts!
