I don't know if you all can help me or not.. but I opened up a cc acct in husband's name without his knowledge (I was trying to keep afloat with it but we both lost job and got WAY behind)and now have a judgement against him from Unifund. They have frozen our bank acct. and he still doesn't know about anything. I have a court date soon - I called the attorney requesting a settlement offer (I was going to use my small profit sharing from my previous job)and was flatly turned down. The debt is now about $10K with fees and interest. If I attend the hearing and let them know that husband had no knowledge don't they essentially have to drop the lawsuit against him and go after me? Or would or best bet be bankruptcy, which we are thinking about doing because this is not the only bill we have. Please help as I am in a pickle.
