They said NOT to send them the copies of the validation letter and Cert return receipt, but to mail it to the Federal Trade Commision. He said that the FTC would then have it removed from the CRAs.

I'm not sure if the guy at TU was feeding me a load of shit or not, but according to him, TU won't remove any records unless they get a letter from either the creditor or the FTC.
