I agree, you need to find a way to get a lawyer on your side.

However, if you just cannot do it, then the only way to have any hope of saving that money is to dig out as much proof as you possibly can that NONE of the funds in that account were yours.

Surely your mother has statements and other papers that can show that SHE was the only depositor. With your name on it, the funds are considered your asset, but JOINT TENANCY may protect at least a portion of those funds.

As to the judgment - is there any way to attack it ? Were you served a summons ? Did you go to court ? What happened ? How long ago was the judgment entered ?

I'm going to dig into NY statutes and see if I can find anything that might help you. I'll post back if I do.
