Do debt settlement groups really work or are they a scam? My husband and I are $47,000.00 in debt and can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. All of this debt is unsecured and he says we should just file bankrupty, but that really scares me. We have never been 30 days late on anything, but are barely making it. I just want to be debt free and basically start over. We are in NC. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
