If an attorney had filed a time barred lawsuit after notification, I'd have me a lawsuit going against Asset AND the attorney for willful and malicious abuse of process, plus probably a bar card or two before the whole thing is said and done.

Get yourself an attorney, a good consumer attorney like Ed Combs law firm, and take them both to Federal Court with lots of punitive damages and jury trial demanded.
