Hey, I have an account with a department store that I am paying on every month. Then recently a credit card company BOUGHT the (current) accounts from this department store to start servicing them on an ongoing basis. Guess what? That card company just HAPPENS to be a company that is trying to collect on an old account.

So my question is this: Now that this card company has my dept. store account can they use my info on THAT account to go after me? For example, I've made payments to the dept store with CHECKS from my current bank account. Can they get that and then try to debit me to satisfy the OLD account?

Thanks........ Picksley
