In Ga. it is a CRIME to avoid or hinder process server be it a law enforcement officer or private process server. You don't have to sign ANYTHING! It can be droped on the ground at your feet. As long as the one serving it signs it, and if contested in court gets on stand and under oath afirms it YOU ARE SERVED! They may also ask for I.D. if you state that you are not that person. Be VERY careful what you are telling folks here as EACH state is different and you may cause someone to get into trouble. ( more than they are already in.)
