One possible suggestion. If you do get sued, file an answer and make yourself a pest. In other words, file motions for this and that in order to drive up their attorney’s fees. You may get a dismissal doing that. Some attorneys such as this fly to the major areas of the state once a month to file batches of lawsuits in the county where you are at. If you can delay and cost them money while they see there is nothing to get from you, they may drop the suit. They may never even file. Just a suggestion, Save the bankruptcy option until you actually LOSE a lawsuit. Bankruptcy is such a powerful wild card, you don’t want to waste it on threats of lawsuits or even on a lawsuit. Bankruptcy should only be used when you LOSE a lawsuit. Yes, it may cost a bit more to get a judgment vacated, but it is worth it not to use the bankruptcy option if you don’t have to. You never know what could come up in the near future such as a catastrophic medical emergency with huge fees that you wouldn’t be able to discharge in a bankruptcy if you’ve already wasted your bankruptcy over unsecured debt.
