As soon as you change your drivers license and car registration, you are a "resident" of the new State. If your SOL had already passed in the "old" State, you may still be covered for the shorter SOL in the new State, as many States have a provision in their statutes to prevent you being sued if you were already past SOL in the original State, and others have a statute that says if the debt defaulted in the shorter SOL State, you are covered under that shorter SOL.( some States do NOT have any such provisions) If, however, your stay in the longer SOL State, is truly temporary, and no changes in your drivers license or registration take place, and if you have already passed SOL in the original State, there is no "tolling". If you are WITHIN SOL and out of reach of ANY legal service, then yes, your time away MAY be tolled.
