Sorry, thought I mentioned the state. I'm in Chicago, IL.
I know there IS garnishment here, but I don't know what
the limits are.

As for other UNPAID bills, the only one's are for credit
cards. ll other bills are up to date. This particular card i
at about $14K. I'm also dealing (unfortunately) with W&
A about an MBNA account at $25K. I have other CC
accounts that are past due, but they're smaller, and
aren't (at this point) afte me. They seem to have
charged off the accounts and left them.

As for low-paying job, well, I make what I consider to be
a decent amount (dunno if I should say how much... you
tell me if that's a "safe" thing to do on a public board) if it
was only me, but I'm also supporting 4 other people
(like I mentioned in my original post), so THAT makes it
seem like I'm in a low-paying job.

Right now, between this account, and the W&A crap, I'm
just scared out of my mind, stressed WAY out, and don't
know here to turn (other than to all of you friendly,
helpful people here!). Right now, I'm assuming BK is
the ONLY option, but I'm really trying to avoid it at all
costs. I have WAY more "stuff" in my home than what
BK exemptions allow. Much of it is my finacees, and/or
the kids, but I somehow doubt that will make any
difference. It'll be gone in the BK anyway.
