Here is a link to bk exemptions (what they can't take)
I filed bk a year ago. They are not interested in normal household stuff. They don't want your life. They don't care how many CD players, or TVs you have in the house because frankly at sheriff sale, they aren't worth much money. What they are looking at is to see if you have any expensive items. My attorney told me that any one item in my house could be valued up to 400.00 per item, sheriff sale prices. For me, and for most average Joes, we get to keep our stuff in bankrupcy. Now if you are importing fine art from Europe!! Probably not. They are going to look at the equity in your house, and maybe your vehicle. They will look at your spending habits for the last 6 months or so. They don't want to have people charging up their charge cards and then filing bk. I would suggest talking to a bk attorney in your area, he knows the ropes in your neck of the woods.
