Payoff Charged to wrong account

I made a payoff in dec03. While checking up on it @ the end of Dec I found out the credit Attorney's office applied it to the wrong account. This got resolved, or so I thought. Now it turns out that my payment has yet to be applied to my account.

What liabilities does the leach office have as far as incorrectly posting and not resolving this in a timely manner...
