The SOL defense is a DEFENSE to a lawsuit, not a BAR to one.

In order to have a judgment vacated, or win an appeal,you need to have some better reason than SOL.

Were you served? Why did you not present the SOL defense at the time?

If you can demonstrate CLEARLY that the service was improper, or the CA lawyers were deceptive, and did not give you the opportunity to present your afirmative defense, then you can win.
