TX Licensing??

What TX law or Statute requires a Lawyer or CA to be licensed in TX?

I know that TX requires they have surety bonds, but what agency requires this?

I'm going to court soon and want to ask the lawyer for their documents in discovery, and need to be able to back up my request with the actual department or law.

Does anyone have this handy?
