from my understanding , texas is a 2 party taping state. i have heard other views but the way i read it, u need both parties consent. my way of this is...to say.."by continuing to talk to me, you are giving your permission for this call to be taped." most simply talk over you and !!! you can tape them. re: the bank accounts..legal or not..and i think it is.."to prevent the person from taking assets out and hidin them before a hearing" most judges will let the accounts be frozen that ones name is on. not sure how they find them...but im taking no chances and have a minimum in my checking to keep it open. the rest is cash and carry. a friend i had in kentucky had their whole paycheck taken. seems the CA learned when their payday was..had a judgement..and waited till the paycheck was in and took it that day. i also am keeping a few grocery receipts..gasoline, etc to show (in case) that the paycheck is for living expenses. from my past of not knowing and getting screwed and being dumb..i am of the opinion-- better safe than sorry. others dont agree, which is fine. i just took all the ideas i was given..did many searches online on credit and related issues..and then made my own decision ,what i could live with , without stressing out constantly. and no ones wages can be touched in texas.
