be sure and check in case a suit is filed and they somehow amazingly enuff..served you somewhere you dont even live. you would be served..legally..in person by a constable here. or it can be posted on your door. it wouldnt come in the regular mail. now our town is VERY careful to serve the right person. (someone with our name was being sued by direct tv and it wasnt us but they made sure it wasnt) some towns arent careful and dont really care. you can keep one car per driver..and make sure your home is homesteaded at your local tax assessor. those assets wont be touched. if your like me..and have nothing anyways..:) boats..(paid for) land..etc can be taken in a judgement. they last for 10 years and are renewable. we lost our land in our BK tho. CAs dont like texas, cause so little can be taken. i was called a deadbeat texan (oh how i wish that was on tape) and told that i moved here to avoid paying. lol. i was born 10 miles from where i live now. but some CAs..the ones i deal with..not ALL..hate texans. lol. makes me really laugh too! now before you freak totally..my daughter has 2 judgements on them and has a checking account..and no one has bothered YET to enforce the judgements at all. shrug* one for 2 years now and one for 4.
