If the state you are in allows tolling, it doesn't much matter how long you remain out of the state. The SOL will start running again as soon as you move back, regardless of whether it's run out in the new state.

Your best bet is to remain in the state you're in until the SOL has run (hoping you don't get sued), then make sure you don't move to a state with a *longer* SOL.
