If this wordsmith most unworthy recalls correctly, requesting validation requires CA to stop all all collection activity until they comply with your request. Failure to do so is another FTC reg violation, be sure to call the FTC and start complaint, follow up in writing. Not nice to continue collection activity after having failed to validate. Not nice at all. FTC website will have 'letters' of opinion addressing this issue.
