If you’ve got Charles Soffar’s crew of idiotic imbeciles threatening you, then Chase sold your account to Collect America/CACV for 10 cents on the dollar. Chase analyzed your account, and decided there was nothing to get by suing you and flushed your account.

Soffar is a franchised Collect America/CACV debt collection agency masquerading as a law office. I bet you didn’t even know you weren’t still dealing with Chase.

Soffar is a Texas attorney, yet he claims to have a basement filled with a 100 “paralegals” (phone drones) all with the paperwork “ready to go” with lawsuits (a lie) in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. Soffar is only licensed to practice law in Texas, so he can’t sue you in North Carolina, not that he sues anyone anywhere. Collect America/CACV which actually “owns” the account doesn’t sue very often either, and they wouldn’t have any reason to doubt Chase’s analysis that your account was only worth 10 cents on the dollar. You would also have an excellent legal defense if Collect America tried to sue (doubtful they would) in that Chase failed to honor their obligation to cover your payments with the insurance you paid for (very typical).

Send Soffar a limited Cease and Desist and of course report him to all the proper authorities, FTC, your AG, his AG, Texas Bar Association, etc for illegally contacting 3rd parties for no reason other than to embarrass you since he already has your location information.

Maybe you could find an attorney who’d be willing to educate Soffar and his crew of crooked conmen about the rules for 3rd party disclosure; you’d have your neighbor’s testimony readily available. Unfortunately, they already know that what they are doing is completely illegal. They continue to act illegally because they get away with it, and it makes them money.
