What you "owe" may include interest and attorney's fees after charge-off, depending on the original cardholder agreement you signed. The interest rate and other charges may be limited by state law, but there is no Federal law barring interest accrual after charge-off.

Of course, they have to prove that you signed an agreement allowing those charges.
