Thank you for a most interesting dissertation. I thought all the idiot landlords were in business in Florida. I spend a significant amount of time keeping my boss- and others I work for- in legal compliance. Many landlords think that they can put illegal clauses in the lease (contradicting Fl law) and get away with it- This one beats all of mine. There is a lawyer in Florida who has created a niche by defending tenants who were not properly served or not properly given three day notices- he makes a nice living by getting a token payment of $75 from the tenant and a very nice payoff from the landlord when the judge rules against the ll. He has never lost yet. (I've been following him.) Perhaps you can also get a nice payoff from this landlord. Aren't there some kind of laws regarding members of the armed forces? Maybe you could hit them on that as well. Please keep us posted-
