You got a letter from POLICE????? from Silver Fox Financial. If they are implying that not paying is criminal activity, they are in violation of FDCPA. Best to IGNORE THEM. Never a good idea to communicate with a CA, especially one that implies criminal activity when NON EXISTS. Not paying a contract is not criminal. This is a civil matter. You can not be arrested, you can not go to jail. Depending on your assets, not much they can do but lie to you and threaten you which is normal CA activity. Protect your assets now. Protect your banking info. If you have ever paid the original creditor with your current bank account, close the account, open an account in a different bank with spouse as primary as possible.
