I do apologize if I sounded abrupt. I do think that you have received excellent info here. We can't make a decision for you. That has to be your choice. Most of us here would not recommend paying a CA. I would assume that if you could afford to pay you would have long ago, before your situation got to this point. Bankrupcy is a fresh start. Bankrupcy laws are in place for your protection. They are in place so that you get that fresh start if you need it. My point is that your credit is already trashed for awhile, Paying CAs will not improve your credit rating. Actually will keep the negative stuff on your reports longer. BUT, the decision is yours to make. If other boards have advised you to pay, and you are sure they aren't CAs posting for their own benefit for all to read, then do as they advise. You are in a difficult position right now. I understand that you are confused and stressed out, I really do. Most here have been in your shoes, including me. Good Luck in whatever you decide.
