This evening I had the pleasure of a receiving a phone call from this arrogant collector. All this man kept did was put words in my mouth. He was harassing me to update the information on file which intailed giving my employer name, alternative phone number and my spouse's name. Is this legal? Then he went on to say that if I did not provide him with this info then I could not get a settlement offer. I told that at the present moment I could not make restitution on this debt but as soon as I could I would actually be more than happy to. All he kept repeating was "you don't plan on paying this". I asked for a supervisor because he just managed to rattle my last nerve. She must have trained him because they said the same exact things. After hanging up with them I decided to look at my most recent credit report and it showed that the original creditor-- Sears should the account as paid in full/paid as agreed and that it was opened in 1995 and closed in 1997. Sherman shows it as being open in 6/2003 and the dollar amounts differ. What can I do? Please help!!!
