A good friend decided to save money by buying at one of the local low cost appliance places- who promptly sent an incompetent (unlicensed) to install said water heater. By the time he was finished, her entire three story townhouse had been destroyed - he managed to break the main water line on the third floor which traveled up and down the walls flooding everything. Three years later, the damage was finally repaired. It took even longer to recoup the money lost from the "low cost store".

That cheap water heater cost a bundle.
