Are all or most of your debts still within the SOL? If yes, than it sounds to me that you're a prime candidate for a Ch 7. I'm not sure about the $2k in the bank, either, but I think the criteria is cashflow per month. In other words, if you regularly have over $100 a month disposable income after paying bills, you may not qualify. But I don't think your little windfall would affect that. If it does, then you need to wait 90 days after "disposing" of it before filing bankruptcy.

And as sobering and disheartening as it may be to contemplate bankruptcy, consider the fact that you're in a country where you CAN get a fresh start with the blessings of the government! Think of all the people in the world who don't have that option. It'll cheer you up a bit, I bet. Congrats on working through the paralysis of extreme debt and deciding on a course of action to rectify it.
