I would find out what your statues are in your state. Normally it's 7-10 years but each state is different. Also, if you live in a community property state and your husband opened this account w/o your knowledge you maybe responsible for the debt but only if it's within the statues of the time period. If you know your rights then no one can do anything to you. Just a thought.
