If the OC took the account back from the CA before you paid, then yes, I do believe they have to remove the tradeline.

BUT, if the CA remained as an assignee of the OC and shared in the kill (per their pernicious and incestuous contract), then I'm afraid they do have the right to keep the "paid" TL on your credit report.

However, both OC's and CA's TL's have to come off your report at the end of the 7 year reporting cycle beginning with the original date of delinquency.
