You *can* request validation within SOL, but all the CA will do is validate the debt through some illogical method that only a schizophrenic would understand.

In the meantime, you've alerted the CA that they have a live one who is stalling for time and probably has something to protect....like money. Once they smell blood, they really start coming after you. And if you have any other CA's out there who are watching your credit report, they see the disputes and figure you're trying to repair your credit. So they, too, come after you.
